“The one who believes in Him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.” John 3:18 (NET Bible)
“The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.” John 3:36 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
Now you may be saying, “I don’t believe any of this.” Your belief in it though doesn’t change it’s reality. Your belief in a cookie doesn’t change its existence, only your ability to enjoy it. Eternal life is the same way. Either you accept what Jesus did for your life or you don’t, but it does not change a single thing. Eternity is going to happen whether you believe in it or not. Where you end up in eternity is entirely up to you, but it will not change the fact that there is a real Heaven and Hell. Without Jesus and His covering your sins, Hell is your destination and nothing that you “believe” about it changes that fact. However, scripture reveals that if you will completely trust in Jesus and in His saving grace, then you will be saved and you will spend eternity in Heaven when you die. Faith is believing what you cannot understand with your logical mind or see with your physical eyes, and if you will take that step of belief in Jesus, your life will be changed forever.
