“But your iniquities have separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” Isaiah 59:2 (New King James Version)
“Jesus replied, ‘I assure you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ ” John 3:3 (Holman Christian Standard Version)
Sin has a penalty. Scripture tells us that it is death. This refers to spiritual death separated from God in Hell for all of eternity. This is the punishment that we all deserve because we have fallen short of God’s standards of holiness and righteousness. It would not matter if we only failed once or a thousand times. It would still be sin worthy of death. The good news is that we don’t have to suffer this spiritual death because of Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross.
